Annual Yoga With a Purpose Benefit Week – May 2-9, 2010&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="ExternalClass" id="MsgContainer"&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span class="style6"&gt;We'd like to thank everyone who  participated in last year’s first Yoga With a Purpose Benefit Week! Your  support helped to make it a&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="style6"&gt; successful  fundraiser  for sustainable African community-led economic development  projects. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;           &lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;span class="style6"&gt;This year we have a goal  of expanding to 70-100 classes in studios throughout the U.S., and we're  calling on you to join the hundreds of others in the yoga community by  donating the proceeds from one class or workshop during the week of May  2nd – 9th, 2010 to the &lt;a href="http://apscuhuru.org/campaigns/ariah/kitchenandstudio.xhtml" class="style15"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;African Village Survival Initiative&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt;!  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p class="ecxMsoNormal"  style="font-family:arial;"&gt; The African Village Survival Initiative is a program created by the African-led Uhuru Movement for community-based economic self-reliance.&lt;span style=""&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;The Uhuru (Freedom) House in St Petersburg FL, the worldwide headquarters of the Uhuru Movement, is a working center for economic development. The African Village Survival Initiative (AVSI) is working to equip the Uhuru House with a recording studio as an institution of international African culture and a commercial kitchen for community based economic development projects.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p face="arial" class="ecxMsoNormal"&gt; At a time when unemployment is over 50% in African communities, these self-sustaining institutions are key to economic development, creating countless new jobs, expanding existing businesses and producing African culture in African hands. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p face="arial" class="ecxMsoNormal"&gt;AVSI Uhuru House projects are about the African community solving the problems by uniting Africans together all over this country and the world for self-determination.&lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p style="font-family: arial;" class="ecxMsoNormal"&gt; This is not charity. We are promoting the Yoga with a Purpose Benefit Week through the media and various internet sites and sources.
